David Polge, FACHE, President and Chief Executive Officer of Delaware Valley Hospital, has recently accepted the appointment to the Board of Directors of Catskill Hudson Area Health Education Center (Catskill Hudson AHEC).  Catskill Hudson AHEC is a non-profit organization that addresses healthcare workforce shortages as well as promotes healthcare career education and awareness throughout an eleven county region.  This region includes Columbia, Delaware, Dutchess, Greene, Orange, Otsego, Putnam, Rockland, Schoharie, Sullivan and Ulster.  Catskill Hudson AHEC is one of nine AHECs in New York State.

Mr. Polge has over 30 years professional experience in hospital administration and is currently responsible for Delaware Valley Hospital, which is a 25 bed, critical access hospital with three primary care centers and an operating budget of $15 million.  He received a Master of Management from the J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management, Northwestern University in 1974.  He conducted his Graduate School Field Study at Evanston Hospital, Evanston Illinois and received his Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Notre Dame in 1972.  Mr. Polge came to New York in 1984 where he became the Assistant Administrator and then later the Chief Operating Officer of Oswego Hospital, a 202 bed community hospital with a skilled nursing and mental health facility.  He is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and maintains memberships on the Iroquois Healthcare Alliance, the Lion’s Club and has recently joined the Board of Directors of Catskill Hudson Area Health Education Center.
